Personal branding
Portraits of you, working as yourself.
For people who don't hide behind a brand, business owners, specialists, tradespeople, creatives, these portraits are planned around exactly where they'll be used. Directed, never stiff, and built around the work you actually do, so the finished piece looks like you on your best day rather than a stranger in a suit.
The approach
Environmental or studio, planned around you.
We start with a conversation about how these portraits will actually be used, on a website, in a profile, on a wall in your workplace, and plan the session from there. Some people are best photographed in the studio, against a clean black background, where nothing competes with the face. Others need the context of where they work: at the bench, in the kitchen, on the stage, somewhere the setting tells part of the story too.
I direct every session rather than posing it. We find the moment where you're genuinely doing the thing you do, not standing stiffly with your arms crossed, and photograph that. It's the same principle behind every session we run, relationships and character over a rehearsed smile, applied here to your relationship with your own work.
Like every Five Castles session, a branding portrait follows the same three meetings: a consultation to plan location and wardrobe, the session itself, and a design appointment where you choose your favourites and collect finished artwork from the Belgrave gallery. If you'd like the full walk-through of how that works, it's on the experience page.

Start with the conversation.
An hour at the Belgrave gallery, by appointment. Bring your idea of how the portraits will be used, and we'll plan the rest together.
